IRGSP celebrates the completion of the sequence

The completion of the rice genome sequence will be remembered by the IRGSP participants as a celebratory toast in a party held at Dr. Rod Wing'fs residence in Tucson, Arizona on November 18, 2004 immediately after the 2nd Annual Symposium of Rice Functional Genomics. The highlight of the evening was the cutting of a ceremonial cake with flags of participating countries. A final group picture was taken in Tsukuba, Japan when the IRGSP members convened for the First Rice Annotation Project Meeting (RAP1) in December 13-18, 2004.
