RICE GENETIC MAP IN NATURE GENETICS
Welcome to RGP rice genetic map in the journal Nature Genetics (Kurata
et al. 1994 8:365-372) and parent Southern image files
Rice RFLP linkage map constructed with 1,383 DNA markers on 927 loci.
Markers are indicated by colored/marked clone names denoted with C, R,
G, Y, L, P, T , W, V or TEL numbers. The first letter of the marker
name and colour or marked letters indicates the category of mapped
clones as follows: C (green), cDNA clones derived from callus library; R
(red), cDNAs from root library; G (black), random genomic clones; Y
(yellow box), YAC-end clones; L (blue box), Not I linking clones; P
(dark blue), randomly amplified polymorphic DNAs; T (dark blue), STS
markers; W (open box), wheat clones; V and other symbols marked by
underline, clones derived from other rice varieties; and TEL (black),
telomere-associated sequences. W numbers correspond to the PSR numbers
of clones developed by M. D. Gale (John Innes Centre, UK) (ref. 6).
Markers denoted with a V contain both genomic and cDNA clones including
SINE1 r6 (ref.25) isolated in other works. Letters A, B, C and D
following the clone number indicate that those loci were assigned by
mapping with one of the polymorphic DNA fragments of the multiple copy
sequences. L and R following the Y number marker indicate they are left
and right end clones, respectively, of YAC clones. S following the
clone number denotes a 3'-UT sub-clone but sequence ID (DDBJ No.) of
that clone was an EST analysed from 5' end of the original cDNA clone.
DDBJ ID No. shows the accession number of the sequence mapped. Double
ID numbers in one clone represent both sequences of plus and minus
strands of the clone. The number in the Dis. colum means the distance
from the previous locus. The cM column shows map distance of the locus
from the top of the linkage group.
